Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water: five qualities of energy that everything in BaZi is made of. They are not substances but movements: Wood rises, Fire radiates, Earth settles, Metal contracts, Water flows.
The elements feed each other in a circle: Wood feeds Fire, Fire makes Earth (ash), Earth bears Metal, Metal carries Water (condensation), Water grows Wood. When a day “produces” your element, you are being supported.
They also keep each other in check: Wood breaks Earth, Earth dams Water, Water quenches Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal cuts Wood. Control is not conflict; it is structure. A river without banks is a flood.
When you read “Fire over Metal” on your daily page, you now know what it means: one element is shaping the other today. The day has a direction, and you can choose how to move with it.
Read against your own chart, these pages name your own pillars and your own Day Master. That happens in the browser, on your device.
